Oh Christmas Tree!

I am in love with our Christmas tree, it slowly rotates so that you can see all the pretty lights and decorations - it's amazing I love to stare at it!

Most of you have seen these but for those that haven't my Grandma Sue made these needle points when she was alive - I didn't get to meet her but from what my parents have told me she was a very special lady!

What's Up Doc?

Things went pretty well at the doctor's office today - I now weigh 15.3 pounds (which puts me in the 40th percentile for my age) and am 26 inches long (the 73rd percentile). Dr. Mancodi said that I am healthy, happy and strong! She was also super impressed that I am rolling over from my back to my belly already. The Doc also told my parents that I could start rice cereal at any time. I even did well with the first shot (I didn't cry) but then they came at me with another one and this one stung so I cried hard, with tears. I think next time I'll send Eddie in my place... do you think mama and papa will notice?

Appetizer Game Day

My parents did their annual Appetizer Game Day today and again I had so much fun - this week has been a blast! This year Grandma, Grandma 2, Nana Care Bear, Gary, Ryan and Dale came over to our house. I love spending time with family so I tried to stay up as long as possible again, (I've done this for the last five days!) who wants to sleep when there is so much fun to be having?! We all laughed and carried on while playing cards and enjoying each other's company. Uncle Gary goes back to OKC tomorrow (Bummer!) I am really going to miss him but Mama has explained that we'll see him again in three months so I can't wait!

I Am Thankful for Family

This is my uncle Gary he lives with his family in Oklahoma - he says that he'll teach me all the important things in life (i.e. how to burp, pull a finger, stick out my tongue, drink beer, etc.) sounds like fun to me but when he said this my mama sarcastically said, "Terrific." And then they all started laughing - my family must be really funny because everyone is always laughing and having a good time. (I like that!) Gary and I have been having the best time together it started when we picked him up from the airport on Monday night. I loved him right away giving him all kinds of smiles and then we went to Buffalo Wild Wings - my favorite restaurant! Papa tells people that BWW is the perfect storm (dark, loud, and lots of televisions with pretty lights) so I am always good there. Then after that we went back to Grandma 2's house and I got to stay up until 10:30pm (I had never been up that late before)! Last night I got to stay up until 10pm and then went to sleep on Grandma 2's big bed while the adults stayed up and played cards. Mama teased that soon I'll be pounding on the wall to get them to be quiet, (just like my Papa 2 used to do to them). Gary is here for Thanksgiving - I can't wait to see everyone on Thursday!!

PS. I rolled over today back to front, twice!!! Once while Grandma was watching me over at Grandma 2's and then another time that evening in front of Mama, Papa, Gary, and Grandma 2! I wanted to show uncle Gary my moves - he's hilarious he calls me "Elwood" (because of Jake and Elwood from the Blues Brothers movie). I don't get the reference but I have decided that I like it because it's Gary saying it! Here is a pic of when I was in the process of rolling over from my back to my belly:

Great Day With Great Grandparents

My First Visit With Santa Claus

I met Santa Claus for the first time today and he was a plump, jolly, white-bearded man who said, “Ho, Ho, Ho - Merry Christmas!” Papa told me that Santa lives at the North Pole, with a large number of magical elves, and nine flying reindeer. And if you are nice (and not naughty) then Santa will deliver presents (including toys and candy) to all of the good boys and girls in the world on the single night of Christmas Eve. He accomplishes this feat with the aid of the elves that make the toys in the workshop and the reindeer that pull his sleigh – Wow, he sounds really neat huh?! Papa and Santa are old friends (as you can see above) I think that Santa really liked me too (and my cool shirt – it says, “Santa Did You Get My Text?”) he even asked Papa if he would take a picture of us on his cell phone saying I was adorable and he wanted to show Mrs. Claus when he got home! Santa then gave me a coloring book and wrote on the front, “Merry Christmas Jacob! Love, Santa Claus 2011” Can you believe it, I got Santa’s autograph …hey, I wonder what it would go for on eBay?! (Sorry but I am my father’s son!) J

Play time with me is really fun! People were asking what the activity mat/gym looks like so here is a picture of it - pretty cool right!? This morning I was almost rolling over back to front on it!!  J

Happy Four-Month Day!!

Can you believe it - I'm already four months old!? My Mama says that the time is flying by and I am getting so big so quickly - she can remember when I was a tiny little baby and she needed to be extra careful when she held me. My Papa is really enjoying playing with me these days - did you guys know that I LOVE toys!! Each day I get better at grabbing and holding them. My parents bought me this cool new activity gym/mat to play on with animal toys that hang overhead and a mirror for when I am on my tummy - I absolutely adore it (especially the giraffe animal it's my favorite)!
- And guess what, I have feet! I love to grab them and try to put them in my mouth.
- I am also experimenting with the volume of my voice these days (which my parents think is funny) I'll get a really soft and nice coo going and then I'll gradually crank up the volume so at the end I am baby screaming. And then when I am all done I smile because I am very proud of myself (and that's what I do when I am proud of myself I smile).
- Speaking of, I smile a lot lately at people, toys, Eddie, mirrors, basically I just like to smile.
- I can see across the room now which is nice for me because now when Mama is cleaning or doing the dishes I can keep an eye on her.
- I have laughed a couple of times but haven't had a real hard belly laugh yet.
- I am holding up my head really well these days - you can pick me up from a laying down position and my head doesn't lag behind at all and when I am doing tummy time I can lift my shoulders up and hold my head at a 90 degree angle.
- We have reading time every day at my house and I am really getting into it - I look at the pictures and smile when my parents are reading to me. I also enjoy going to the library to pick out new books too. Papa tells me that they have been reading to me for the last year which means that they were reading to me when I was living inside Mama's belly (funny huh).
- I am also sleeping more at night, in fact I slept nine hours straight last night!!
- I like to drool and blow bubbles a lot too now (my parents are wondering if I am cutting a tooth even though it seems a little early).
- My movements are becoming smoother but still are a little jerky at times (especially when I am tired).
- And I have rolled over a total of four times now from front to back!

- Yep, I am four months old and am loving life!

Craft Fair

We went to a huge craft fair in Shakopee, MN yesterday it was insane, there were over 500 craft booths mostly with handmade gifts (pottery, woodworks, jewelry, things made from fabric, etc.) and thousands of people (literally thousands of women!) Grandma and Mama said that I was perfect because I just lounged in my stroller and then fell asleep while they looked around. It was another successful outing.

Aunt Briana & NCB

I had a great little visit with my Aunt Briana and Nana Care Bear tonight - they tell me that I was also with Great Grandma and Great Grandpa Bob too but I slept through that visit. NCB did an awesome job feeding me and then even got rid of my hiccups (which is no small feat!) it was terrific to see them but I couldn't help but wonder, Where's Grandpa?
