Last Week of Swimming Class :-(

Our swimming class is almost over which is a bummer but on the bright side Grandma came down to watch me swim tonight. I made sure to show her all kinds of skills that I have learned and some that I just made up tonight. After class I got to have chocolate milk for the first time, it was outstanding!

Here is a video of me kicking - that is my biggest accomplishment of the class.

Now I Can Finally Backpack Through Europe...

Or maybe just through the living room!

I love to put all kinds of cool things in my backpack books, cars, vegetables (don't worry it's my toy veggies!), and even Cookie Monster fits in there.

Waffle Sunday & Cards Too

Sometimes the best days are low-key ones spent at home with family. Grandma 2 and Ryan came over for Waffle Sunday (my parent's homemade waffles are so yummy!) and then we just hung out and played some cards and spent the day together. It was a nice little Sunday.

A Rose By Any Other Name...

Grandma bought my Mama a dozen roses a fews days ago and I got to play with one today. I loved smelling it and ripping it apart. However the fun ended when I tried to eat a rose pedal. Apparently the funniest thing is me smelling the rose. I crinkle my nose and make a funny face (second pic) my parents were laughing pretty hard but what they didn't understand is that I am only imitating them and this is what they both look like when they are teaching me to smell the flowers. Settle down you two it's not that funny... hey, Eddie you ever stopped to smell the roses?

Twelve-Month Dr Visit

My twelve-month doctor appointment started off on a good note they had fish in the waiting room so I had fun watching them swim around. While we waited for my name to be called I also practiced showing my one finger because I was excited to tell Dr. Mankoti that I am one year old now. (She was really impressed by the way and said that I am extremely smart.) Then the weirdness began as they stripped me naked, weighed me, stretched me out to get my height, and measured my head circumference. After that Dr. Mankoti examined me which I didn't like at all; she has these bright blue gloves and was poking and prodding me, it wasn't fun. Then I got three shots and they pricked my finger too - it hurt but afterwards the nurse gave me a package of animal crackers so I guess the visit ended on a good note too.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot the stats - I weigh 21.3 pounds (25th percentile) and am 2 feet 6 inches tall (68th percentile). The Doc said that I am doing great and my parents could even give me some snacks throughout the day (like animal crackers maybe, they were tasty).

Seriously I'm Batman

See I am riding the bat mobile by myself, fighting crime in the living room. Never mind my pajamas, I am just wearing those to confuse the villains. I'm Batman!

Yes, steering is a bit of an issue but when has that ever slowed down a super hero?! And even Batman himself as a learning curve people.

The Party Don't Stop

We have been having a marvelous time visiting with Aunt Sue & Uncle Doug! We went out for lunch at the Old Mill Restaurant, played a lot, talked a lot, went for walks outside (I showed them my neighborhood!), and we even played dice... well, the grown-ups did I had to go to sleep. Which I protested about forever but to no avail.

A Celebration Fit For A King

My birthday bash was a big success and lots of people were there, including Aunt Sue & Uncle Doug from Kansas! We had a fantastic time and I am a very lucky boy to have so many people who love and care about me. I think this birthday thing is terrific and can't wait until next year!

I Love Friday the 13th

My day started with Grandma, Mama and Papa coming into my room singing "Happy Birthday" to me, which was awesome. That had never happened before. Then Grandma had breakfast with us and afterwards she gave me a bunch of cool birthday presents (including a picnic table that's just my size!). After that my parents and I got in the van and drove to Grandpa's house where I had another party. There were Twins baseball decorations, good food (my first cupcake) and more presents. I got a lot of nice gifts but the big news was that Grandpa gave me a bat mobile. So now I'm Batman! After that we went to the Twins baseball game which was so much fun - my favorite part was relaxing on my Grandpa, feet crossed, clapping together for our Minnesota Twins. We even had a camera guy come over and put all of us on the jumbotron! It was very exciting. Mama made a "Circle Me Bert" sign - for those that don't live in Minnesota Circle Me Bert is a popular sign raised by fans in hopes that Bert Blyleven (commentator, former Twin and Hall of Fame pitcher) will spot their sign and circle them on television with his telestrator. Bert was MIA, but we did get on the jumbotron so we were pretty fired up!

Happy 1st Birthday!

Guess What Everyone, I'm 365 Days Old!!

There have been some MAJOR changes this month; I can walk about ten steps now unassisted, I am eating all table foods so no more baby food, I only have one morning bottle per day the other two bottles are given to me via sippy cup at meal times, and I have seven teeth now. I am mimicking a lot and through that I have learned to "give you five," blow a kiss, make animal sounds, make car noises while playing with my cars, and sing. If you ask me how old I am - I will hold up one finger for you because I'm one now. I'm playing more by myself and communicating more every day. I still smile a ton and am a really happy baby - why wouldn't I be, Life is Good!

To Jake:

We can't believe that you are one year old already it seems like just yesterday we were meeting each other for the first time. This last year has been filled with so much love, laughter, kindness and positivity that we feel the need to thank you for making us better versions of ourselves. Seriously Jake you are such a blessing and one that we promise to never take for granted. We both love you with all our hearts and are so very proud to say that you are our son. Happy 1st Birthday Baby!

Love,
Mama & Papa
