Mill City Museum

Built into the ruins of what was once the world's largest flour mill, the Mill City Museum is located on the historic Mississippi Riverfront. Here, visitors of all ages learn about the intertwined histories of the flour industry, the river, and the city of Minneapolis (Mill City Museum, 2013). We went here on Saturday and it was super fun. I got to play by a large, very old tractor, watched a 20-minute movie on Minneapolis (my first movie on a big screen), played with Daddy & Grandpa in a water exhibit, saw great views of St. Anthony Falls and the Mississippi River through the 9th floor observation deck, and rode an 8-story elevator through an exhibit on the history of the flour mill. That was my favorite part I clapped after each floor. What a fun day we had!

Play That Funky Music White Boy

St. Patrick's Day 2013

We had a visitor come to our house last night... a lucky little leprechaun! He went around picked up all my green toys and put them in a green box and then threw in some green food because green is a very special color when you're Irish and especially on St. Paddy's Day. He also left a note, "Wherever you go and whatever you do - may the luck of the Irish be there with you."

Germs Make Me Sick!

Hide & Seek Before Bath Time

Being Silly After Bath Time

Eddie Curling Up... Oops I mean ON a Good Book

I have a doozy of a cold and two ear infections; having never had an ear infection I gotta say I don't care for them especially when you get one in each ear. My nose is running all the time and I have a fever so we made a trip to the doctor's office and got some medicine. It tastes yummy so that was okay and this doctor had a little table with crayons and paper so that was also okay. It's not my favorite place though (because I usually get shots) but this time was different. It was okay... but I still don't like it there. Mama told me that the happiest day of her and Daddy's life happened at that hospital so I guess I'll try to keep an open mind. I try to stay positive and have some fun when things are going badly so here I am taking this sickness in stride.

PS. Look at Eddie isn't he adorable! And so funny - I just want to pick him up and hug him but he doesn't like me to do that at all - seriously, he gets really mad when I try to pick him up. Today he did let me touch his nose though and it was wet. Isn't that funny?! I love you Eddie

First Day of Toddler Preschool

"Parting is such sweet sorrow"... but what Shakespeare didn't know is how many cool toys and exciting books Apple Lane has so then parting is "easy peezy lemon squeezy" man! I had a terrific first day at school. I ate chicken nuggets, corn, and oranges for lunch. We played in the gym twice, ate snacks, listened to music, read lots of books, and had nap time (yep, I slept on my very own little cot). Mrs. Julie (seen above) is my teacher and she has an assistant Mrs. Suzie both of them are really nice. I have nine other kids in my class and only two others are boys. Mrs. Julie said that I played well with the other kids today and the girls were giving me lots of hugs which you know I endured.

Luck of the Irish

Since I'm Irish I am extra lucky the entire month of March here I am celebrating St. Paddy's Day a little early!

And stay tuned because tomorrow I have my first day of school! We've been talking about it a lot and even visited the school twice and got to play there for an hour. I had a really good time and liked the kids and my teacher Mrs. Julie. I will be going Monday, Tuesday and Thursday starting tomorrow...

International Festival of Owls

We went to Houston, MN to attend the International Festival of Owls on Saturday it was a hoot! There was an owl faced pancake breakfast, live owl display with a hawk and three different owls, owl mascot "Hooston," and even an owl story hour. I liked everything but didn't want to sit still long enough to watch the live owl display so Mama and I walked around the school where it was held. The real highlight wasn't the birds of prey but instead they had these really neat long ramps that took us upstairs to the third floor without climbing any stairs. I must have ran up and down those ramps 30 times all the workers were amazed by my energy.
