Grandma 2 told me the sweetest story today her first job was a carhop at the A&W Root Beer Stand (which incidentally was my Mama's first job too she skated around on rollerblades). Anyway, one night after work the boss (a car nut named Bud) asked my Grandma 2 if she needed a ride home after she accepted a cook named Larry said he also needed a ride. So Grandma 2 and Larry rode in the back rumble seat of Bud's Ford. The rest as they say is history... they fell in love, had five kids, and were married for 57 years! That same car was in an auction this weekend so we couldn't resist the urge to take a quick picture.
After the car pic Grandma 2 took Mama and I out for a doughnut. When it came time to choose I picked a "zebra" doughnut because well, that's a funny name for a doughnut. Stories and doughnuts it was a pretty great day!
