24 Months & A Doctor Visit

So I’m two years old and love saying that I am a big and strong boy and that I want to do it all by myself. In fact, I like saying a lot of things. My vocabulary is huge (hundreds of words) and I put together six or more word sentences regularly. Strangers can understand what I am saying; I follow multi-step directions, walk, run, jump, climb, kick a ball, and skip. I can open doors, containers, manipulate moving parts on toys, and put together puzzles. I love to draw circles and scribble with crayons and markers. I also enjoy finger painting and playing musical instruments. I love books some of my favorites include The Gruffalo, Goodnight, Goodnight Construction Sight, Curious George, and The Interrupting Chicken. My favorite television shows are Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. My favorite toys are trains, trucks, cars, ships, planes, robots, and balls. I like to play outdoors, take Eddie for a walk, and climb on the playground equipment.

Dr. Mankodi said that I'm doing terrific and am super smart. She had a bunch of assessments for me to complete to test my social and emotional abilities, language and communication skills, cognitive aptitude and physical development. I passed them all and even went above and beyond the norm for my age. I liked the tests and showing off for her, it was fun. Some changes that she told us about were 2% milk instead of whole milk, fluoride toothpaste, and the biggest news is that I get to keep my Nuk! She said that the pacifier is completely fine and especially how I use it only at nap and bedtime. Dr. Mankodi gave me another book, Bread and Jam for Frances. She's a great doctor but I'm kind of glad that I don't have to go back until I'm 3 years old! (No offense.)

I now weigh 28 pounds (59th percentile) and am 35 inches tall (60th percentile).

A Weekend To Remember

A tractor (well John Deer lawnmower but it looked like a tractor to me!), wagon ride, walks with Grandpa, horse rides with Nana, lots of fun playtime, my first s'more, and the best baseball game yet it was a weekend to remember for sure! I loved the game so much that all day today I was "baseball Jake" and worked on my swing, running the bases, and throwing overhand. :-)

Jacob's Clubhouse!

On Saturday I woke up to Mama & Papa singing "Happy Birthday" and then came out in the living room to find a brand new tricycle it was very exciting. Then after my nap the house became Jacob's Clubhouse for my 2nd birthday party. It was truly awesome!

My birthday was great all my favorite people were there to help me celebrate and they were wearing Mickey Mouse shirts. I kept going around telling people, "Nice to see you, thanks for coming!" I got a ton of presents, yummy cake, all my favorite foods, and the house was decorated super cool. It was so much fun the only bad part was having to call it a day. But then the next day we were still celebrating and got to hang out with Aunt Sue & Uncle Doug so that was terrific. Man, I really love birthdays!!

My 1st School Birthday

Today was pretty neat because we celebrated my birthday at school. My friends and teachers sang, "Happy Birthday," I got to bring my favorite treat - gummy bunnies for everyone to share at snack time, Mrs. Diane and Mrs. Karla gave me a book that we read in class, and I got to wear a crown. Then after school my parents took me to Buffalo Wild Wings for supper and I got to watch a baseball game on a huge television.

My "Awesome" Weekend

Oh man, you guys should've been with me this weekend we had an awesome time! Nana bought me golf clubs (seriously awesome), we went over to Sean & Vic-Vic's house and I got to play the guitar and then we went for a boat ride (doubly awesome), went back to Grandpa's and played in a pool that was just my size (refreshingly awesome), blew bubbles out of a gun (magically awesome), had many drum solos (rockingly awesome), and saw fire works (brilliantly awesome). Can you guess what my new word is... yep awesome!
