I am having fun exploring other rooms in my house - this is Kitchenland. I usually just eat or play in my highchair in this room but now I am getting to explore it from a different perspective via my walker. Let me just say that I am loving it! My Papa even put up a gate to stop me from going downstairs by myself (which I love to stand at and yell down to him my voice echos so I sound even louder than normal, it's great). My favorite part about Kitchenland, besides getting to explore new territory and the gate, is that I get to bang into cabinets, the dishwasher, fridge, people, etc. it's lots of fun (I have a giggle each time I do it).

Hat Trick
Today I was all about my hat - now I know what you're thinking, "Wow Jake not many people can rock the hat with pirate dog pajamas!" but I think I do all right.

A Love Letter to Eddie
Oh Eddie I love you so much, let me count the ways:
1. I love that you're soft
2. And hairy
3. That you're small like me
4. And cute like me too
Well, that pretty much completes my list (hey, I'm only 9 months old!) Why Eddie, why must you run away from me?!
PS. I am standing now - as long as I have something to hold onto I'm good... unless it's late at night than I become a "drunkin' baby" (parent's words, not mine) who can't stand or walk. Here are a couple more pics of me playing.

Fishy Friday
We went to a place called Sea Life (an aquarium inside the Mall of America) where you can see more than 10,000 sea creatures. We saw sea horses, sharks, sea turtles, sting rays, and Mama's favorite jelly fish. I was so excited that I didn't take any naps and pushed through to make sure that I didn't miss a moment. The result (surprise, surprise) was that I got a little fussy on the ride home. Oh well, it was a great day - sharks were swimming over our heads it was totally awesome! Did you guys know that my parents went diving with sharks in the Bahamas a few years ago? Pretty crazy right, Mama says that was before she saw the movie "Jaws" now she's content staying on this side of the glass!

Just Do It
Do you think that this is what Nike had in mind when they came up with their iconic slogan, "Just Do It" I do, I make this shoe look good (and by good, I mean yummy). Maybe they should have said, "Just Chew It!"
Today we had a carpet beach party the weather was really cold and rainy (39 degrees, burrr!) so we stayed inside and brought out my warm weather gear (sun glasses, sandals, and beach hat) and had fun despite the silly weather.

Operation Independence
To help me deal with my separation anxiety (aka always wanting to be held) and also help with walking Grandma bought me this fantastic walker - pretty cool huh?! I love it (I am not really walking with it yet) but it lights up, has a mirror and a hidden tray for toys, and things to chew on so obviously I really like it. I was trying to figure out how it works (and also making sure my legs were still there) they are by the way so we're good. J
Thank you a whole bunch Grandma!

Look Who's Growing Up!
Well, I hate to say it but the doctor was in for my nine-month doctor visit and she gave me shots AGAIN, but this time I was really brave and only cried a little and recovered much quicker than ever before. (As seen in the before and after shots above - I was even praying for a doctor "no show" during my weigh-in.)
I had the whole stranger anxiety thing going on and wouldn't let Dr. Mankodi examine me very easily. In my defense she was wearing blue gloves, had a very cold instrument she was placing on me, and she was bursting my bubble! She said I was doing really well though and that my parents could give me more food and even less milk. This is terrific news because I love food, hey guess what I am eating all my vegetables as well as fruit now and I am even eating some meat too. I now weigh 20 lbs and 1 oz (39%) and am 29 inches tall (65%).

Happy Nine-Month Day!
Nine months on the inside and now nine months on the outside - I think its safe to say that Mama and I both prefer the outside!
Happy Friday the 13th Everyone! Well, lets see at nine months I am "talking" all the time (I have even incorporated hand gestures into my communication), I am eating stage two foods now (which are thicker and chunkier) along with some finger foods each day (mainly Cheerios and fruit). I had meat for the first time this week (turkey with some sweet potatoes) and liked it so I am no longer a vegetarian. I'm trying to get the hang of feeding myself - I can pick up the food but then I like to play with it instead of eating it some eventually does go in but more of it goes elsewhere. My parents think this is ironic because I put everything into my mouth (except the finger food)? To which I will say, "I am a complicated man people, a mystery wrapped in an enigma really." Anyway, probably the biggest change is that I love it when people hold me and then we go explore so when I'm put down by myself I get a little fussy... cue separation anxiety! My daily routine is still staying pretty much the same except we have cut back on my milk intake because I'm eating more real food now. Still two naps a day (morning and afternoon) and a full nights sleep. So basically I'm loving life, my family, books, toys, new experiences, etc. I am a happy (though complicated) little man. J

Easter & Mama's Birthday
We had a great Easter and spent two nights with Grandpa, NCB, and Aunt Briana (and Kodi too). Some highlights from the weekend were that I ate Cheerios for the first time, kicked a ball, had bubbles blown around me, got to pet Kodi and she licked my finger a few times which I thought was hilarious (Kodi is awesome!) and I even received some presents. My Grandma gave me two cute Easter outfits (shown below) and an Easter basket with toys before we left for the Cities and Grandpa gave me a talking book along with a very cool car. I love my family!
It was also my Mama's birthday so I gave her a very nice card (that Papa helped me pick out) and showered her with extra love. My parents went to the Twins season opener baseball game at Target Field while I stayed with Grandpa, NCB, and Brie - everyone had a terrific couple of days!!!
